The Brewster Teachers’ Association proudly welcomed more than 25 new members during New Teacher Orientation today, marking the beginning of another school year and the newest chapter in the careers of these educators.
The afternoon began with a luncheon bringing new educators together with their mentors. The BTA is especially proud of the district’s mentoring program, which was developed through collaboration between the Brewster Teachers’ Association and the Brewster Central School District several years ago. The program provides new educators with an important source of support, guidance, and connection as they become part of the Brewster school community.
Following the luncheon, the new BTA members participated in a scavenger hunt designed to introduce them to their union in a fun and engaging way. Participants had the opportunity to learn more about the BTA, the resources and support available to members, and the many ways they can become involved in their union throughout the year.
The afternoon also included a special preview of upcoming BTA events and activities, giving our newest members an opportunity to learn more about the work the association does beyond the workplace and the many ways BTA members come together throughout the school year.
New Teacher Orientation is always a special opportunity for the BTA. Welcoming new educators into our union is about more than simply introducing them to an organization—it is about building relationships, creating connections, and making sure every new member knows that they have a strong union supporting them from their very first day.
The Brewster Teachers’ Association is excited to welcome this outstanding group of educators and looks forward to working with them throughout the year. We are confident they will make a tremendous contribution to our schools, our students, and our community.
Welcome to the Brewster Teachers’ Association. We’re glad you’re here, and we’re looking forward to a great year together!
